Im doing a Castlevania themed week on my blog leading up to Halloween. Here is Death from the game, but i quickly realized this is basically just a grim reaper type character. I wanted to play around with a few things to make it a bit unique. nothing too crazy obviously.

You are doing this series some major justice with your stuff!! I like the death mist effect especially on this one!!! Have you played the game Dracula´s Curse?

it was kind of a last minute decision that really pushes this up a notch.If I color it or have someone color these, I want the skulls knocked out to look really ghostly. for the B&W I just kept it pencil for the effect. the swish through his cape was done with micron lines first to give it direction and control, then I swiped over those lines left to right with a brush with very little ink for that "dry-brush" effect.

Cool!! I was wondering how you did that effect.. By the way, what brush did you use? Love how ethereal the skulls look, literally floating. They add so much dynamism to the piece!
