Snake Eyes 11 Cover Colors Storm Shadow by RobertAtkins Snake Eyes 11 Cover Colors Storm Shadow by RobertAtkins
Cover for the upcoming Snake Eyes #11 from IDW. Interiors will be drawn by Alex Cal, who is a fantastic artist. If you arent collecting SnakeEyes, #9 (coming out in Jan) is a great jumping on point. Storm Shadow obviously is a big part of that arc and will be in the book for awhile.

I will be back on interior art as of issue #13.

Colors by the amazing Simon Gough :iconspidermanfan2099:

Two questions: 1) When exactly does the "Cobra Civil War: Snake Eyes" Vol.2 book come out this month; and 2) will there be ANY SERIOUS SE/S romance action going to happen in this series?!??! I'm a total fan-girl and I am honestly DYING to see our all time favorite *good guy* ninja making out with his girl, Scarlett. I think that this series has that potential, but I haven't seen anything more than a hug.... the suspense is killing me!!!

Aside from all of THAT drama, awesome work! Everytime I go to the comic book store I look for more of your Snake Eyes pictures and I have truly been blown away time and time again! Keep it up, Mr. Awesome!

....but I'm serious about the romance thing....

This arc is pretty intensely focused on the Arashikage, so I dont know yet if there will be in issues 13-16, but I havent seen all the scripts yet either so we'll see.

Yay!!! I'm hoping for a MAJOR romantic reunion whenever Snake gets home. I hope you're comfortable with a *cough* suggestive *cough* scene!

That depends on how big a cough your suggesting there. Remember it all goes through Hasbro approval too. heh.

Curse them and their censors!!! Well, I guess him FINALLY confessing his love for her.. and then a great make-out scene will do the trick. You know, if nothing else. Oh well, if you've met one "hopeless romantic fan-girl" I guess you've met them all!

Anyways, I LOVE your work and have decided to collect the graphic novels with 4 chapters in them, and can't wait for the second one to come out! I plan to use some of my next paycheck just for that!!

Really nice cover! I like the action angle.
Would have been even better without the sai and nunchaku though. (Those are weapons from okinawa and therefore not associated with the ninja)

Robert. I LOVE your art. I'm a big fan, it's your attention to detail I like the most, all the pouches and equipment you draw in, so don' take this as a slam or anything. I may very well be wrong about these two things but from my experince as a archery hobbiest, the arrow and bow sight shoud be on the opposite side, from my knowledge you just can't shoot a arrow like that. Also since it has all the hallmrksof a compound bow (bow site with three range indicators, front stabilizer) where are the cams (wheel gears at each end of the bow)?

Probably just me being nit picky, but I just pick up on those things when it comes to archery. I have a Dick Girodano Green Arrow commission that while pretty and hung on my wall for a while, drives me nuts cause of the way he is shooting the bow.

LOVE the pic though looks great!

Hey, I appreciate the comments. For the design of his bow I modeled it off of the SideShow collectibles figure that came out a little while ago.

If there is something technically wrong with it, then I blame their ignorance, and my ridiculous assumption that they had it right. So it proves I shouldnt rely on someone elses research. But I wasnt going about it with an attitude of making it all up and hoping it looked believable enough. It actually really bothers me now that I know it isn't correct.
grumble, grumble. sigh.

Ah man well now I feel like a prick. It's still a good looking piece and most people wont even notice. Everyone just has one of those things they pick up on when they look at art or see something on TV or Movies that they know about.

Now to correct myself, Long bows can use stabilizers. Alot of hunters use them. I never really looked into it since I have a old one my father gave me that I just shoot for fun from time to time, I shoot a compound bow mostly which you almost always use stabilizers on to help improve accuracy.

I know you do alot of research ahead of time, like I said its the eye for detail you have with all the gear you put on these characters, or the background you draw in that makes your art pop for me.
