Lovely work! I think this is the first time I've seen an illustration done of her actually morphing. A challenging concept to capture but you did it beautifully! Well done!

Here's a little of what I recall from Mystique's history at Marvel:

My first awareness of the character was as a villainess showing up in the background of the late 1970s Ms. Marvel comics that ran for about 2 years before getting canceled. She made only one appearance in a cameo role while the heroine was fighting the villain Gro-Tesk (a one-off X-Men villain whose first appearance had him "kill" Professor X during the mid-1960s). I didn't see her again until she resurfaced in the "Days Of Future Past" story arc in Uncanny X-Men #141-142 a few years later, leading her own version of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

A formidable opponent for any hero, given her abilities, and how she managed to use them to insert herself into a position of power.

Just a critique but I would have made the right leg the one that was morphing along with the right arm, with her leg almost entirely turned into the knocked out dude's leg. Just a thought, obviously the piece is done.

ah, thats a good suggestion, I did her left leg the one changing since it was in the front and more noticeable. But I see where you're coming from. With a different pose that would work much better.

Really great job! Very cool! One must assume that Mystique is in fact always naked and that her clothes are actually part of her, since they change when she changes.
